What Is Proposition 65?
California Proposition 65 (officially known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986) requires businesses to provide warnings if their products contain chemicals listed by the State of California as potentially causing cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.
The law applies to products sold in California, even if exposure levels are very low.
Why Is This Warning Provided?
Some dietary supplements may contain naturally occurring trace amounts of chemicals such as heavy metals (including lead), which are commonly found in soil and can be present in herbs, plant-based ingredients, or minerals.
Even when products meet federal safety standards, California law may require this warning.
